Sally shows us around Unit 1, a modern two bedroom, two bathroom unit located on the first floor of The Firestone.
We talked to a couple of our new residents about living in The Firestone Amarillo. They also discuss what it's like living in an old tire shop.
“Money can only be used for the facade, exterior only,” Duke said. “We categorize a facade as what you see from sidewalk level. We don’t like to do parking lots and roofs because our goal is to make downtown more beautiful, and it kind of boils down to curb appeal.”
“We have several great options for living downtown,” said Beth Duke, executive director of Center City. “We’ve had old buildings be transformed into lofts. There are a lot of possibilities.”
Wes Reeves from Xcel Energy was on Studio 4 discussing energy efficiency and he was interview here at The Firestone because of our energy efficient appliances and design.

“This is so exciting,” said Beth Duke, Center City executive director. “This is a tour of our downtown properties that are available for sale or lease and it’s everything from residential, like here at the beautiful Firestone Apartments, to retail space at Buchanan, to a live/work space on Pierce.”
